Graffiti Shoes + Why Time Is Important

Monday, we meet again....

Hola my dear readers! Last week we here in NY/the east coast experienced a brief tease of spring with 60° weather and let me tell you, it was glorious! I cannot wait for warm sunny days. Of course everyone took advantage on this day, including myself, by busting out these 10+ year old graffiti shoes. I love the sayings on them and the bright vibrant colors; they go with anything.

My college friend said something that got me deep in thought: "time passes us by so quickly." Yes, it does. So quickly that sometimes it just depresses me. Like, how the heck am I 33!? It's been 10 years since my grandmothers passing and it doesn't even feel like it. It still hurts sometimes. It will be 9 years since my first nephew's passing and that too brings a dark cloud of thoughts.

Time passes us so quickly that days, weeks, months, years go by and we haven't done whatever it is that we said we'd do. We lose touch with friends, family, goals, etc. Dreams become dormant and sometimes die. Why do we let time pass us by? That's why it's so important to seize the moment and every opportunity. That's why we should do the things we love, spend time with the people we love, and pursue our passions. I truly believe it is never too late to follow a dream. It's important to guard yourself, your heart, and your emotions from those that tell you otherwise.

I understand that some have good intentions, but, you can't let the naysayers persuade you. A very good friend of mine has been chasing his dream for most of his life. Of course, life happened, and there were a few delays, BUT, it is now happening for him and he's over 40! Who said there was an age limit on your dreams? It can happen at ANY TIME!!!! That is why you should never stop. As hard as it may get, you must keep going. I'm saying this to myself just as much to you all :-)

Let's all aim to not let time pass us by.

“Time is free, but it's priceless. You can'town it, but you can use it. You can't keepit, but you can spend it. Once you've lost ityou can never get it back.” ~ Harvey MacKay
