Where To Buy Stylish + Affordable Workout Clothes

Getting up to head to the gym can be a struggle sometimes. One thing that always gets me motivated is cute workout clothes. I’ve come a long way from what I used to wear to the gym and I can tell you that wearing an outfit you feel good in can make a huge difference in your mood.

Finding affordable and stylish workout clothes is a whole other issue! But, I’ve learned so much throughout the past few years and I’m sharing my favorite places to get cute and affordable workout clothes! First, Old Navy. Yes girl, I said OLD NAVY. Don’t sleep on them! They’re my absolute favorite store to get the essentials plus you can’t beat the price point. Their Active line is so good and I always stock up when they have a sale because, well, why the heck not?! If you’re heavy chested and need support I recommend the high impact bra’s. I like the padding because it covers the nips when it gets cold (don’t wanna draw attention to yourself). I love them especially for running because it keeps the girls in place.

Another favorite of are the Go Dry tops. The cotton is so soft and although you’re sweating you feel dry. They have the cutest styles and can be used outside the gym too for an easy athleisure outfit on the go. When it comes to their leggings I love the fit. I hate anything that sits  too low on the hips so I always purchase bottoms that are mid or high rise rise. If shopping online I read reviews to see if a particular style is see-through. But when I shop in store I check for an inside lining. That helps me know if I’ll be putting on a show or not. You can also do the squat or bend over test to know this! So definitely look for some type of lining.

I tried Fabletics for the first time a few months ago and I’m hooked! Seriously, everything is super stylish! They have great prints and it’s so easy to shop the site. I like that you can purchase an entire outfit or just the individual pieces. I find that the items are pretty much true to size though I do like to size up in certain tops, just in case. It’s always good to check the measuring chart as some pants can be a tad snug. But then again they’ll loosen up with continued use.

They too carry supportive sports bras which I learned is so so so important! I like to take advantage when they have sales because you can really get your money's worth. Last purchase I made I got 3 bottoms, 2 sports bras, 2 tops, 1 jacket for under $200. That’s not bad! And the quality is *thumbs up*.

Checking out the sales rack at your local Target, Marshalls or TJ Maxx isn't a bad idea either. I stay away from colored bottoms that don't have a lining because I find that they bleed a lot. Also, getting any accessories like a water bottle, ankle weights, gym bag etc are good to get at these stores too. You can usually find them at a really low price and who don't like that right?

Lastly, an important thing I've also learned is what materials to look for in your gym clothes. You guys, I'm so embarrassed just thinking of what I used to wear to the gym! 😂 But hey, you live and learn right? Anyway, I look for polyester, nylon, rayon, and spandex. These materials help keep you feeling dry because they absorb moisture and it evaporates quickly. So you're not left feeling like a sweaty mess. For activities that I know I won't be sweating that much, a cotton blend will do. This is the simplest most basic explanation lol. But check out this cheat sheet I found, very helpful!

To make your fitness clothes last, make sure to wash them inside out, on the gentle cycle and air dry them. DO NOT put them in the drier! I've ruined so many pieces this way. I'm not an "expert" on this issue, this is just what I've learned and what works for me. This post is great too.

If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend checking out my tips for shopping online and my fitness series. I think those posts go hand in hand with one (if I do say so myself) ha!.
