If you’re an actor, content creator, or both, these recommendations are essential for making your creative process seamless.

My new favorite camera to vlog with, especially when I’m out and about. It’s small and compact making it easy to travel with. It’s discreet so you won’t feel self consciuous when vlogging in public.

canon eos m50

Mirrorless Vlogging Camera Kit with EF-M 15-45mm Lens.

For self-tape auditions, this is my go-to camera! Also great for vlogging.

Sound is very important! I use this mic for the Canon M50. It’s compacts and provides great audio for videos.

Snowball iCE Versatile USB Microphone

Black Bundle with Deco Gear Accessories Including Suspension Boom Scissor Arm Stand + Pop Filter Wind Screen + Mic Stand Adapter. Great for recording VO.

This LED portable light comes with 3 light modes, a front and back clip, and is rechargeable. Perfect for your phone, laptop, or iPad.

Comes with a tripod stand, and cell phone holder. It’s dimmable and provides enough light for self-tapes, live streaming, makeup tutorials, YouTube, etc. And, it’s compatible with iOS and Android (I’m an Android girlie;-). Also love that it comes with a remote.

If you’re filming a self-tape on a DSLR or camera similar to the Canon M50, then you need a heavy duty tripod that can hold the wight of your camera as well be adjustable aka, go as high as you need it to go. Plus, it’s much easier to film YouTube videos and other types of content with a tripod like this one.

I love having a variety of small tripods depending on my needs. Not only does this one extend but it also comes with a remote and can easily be paired with any phone and camera.

Whatever you do, make sure you have several SD cards handy in case you need them! Being an actor and content creator means you are filming quite a lot of content so you want to make sure that you don’t run out of space in the middle of recording something.

Trust me when I say that you will need to backup your files and keep footage in a safe place, because you never know what can happen. 1TB is enough when you’re just getting started, but I highly recommend you invest in 4TB or more.
