1. CLEAN & ORGANIZE YOUR LAPTOP

As a content creator / influencer you are constantly creating content and likely leaving it on your desktop or in some random folder. What better time to clean up your desktop, folders, and get everything organized? Plus getting your Google Drive, Dropbox or other “cloud” storage of choice decluttered and organized makes looking for files so much easier. I recently reorganized my Google Drive and I absolutely love how easily accessible files are on my phone now.

2. BACKUP FILES ON YOUR DEVICES

Along with cleaning and organizing your laptop and files, BACK IT UP! Not that ass, but your files! Backup files on your laptop, phone and other devices that you have important assets in. An external hard drive is an essential accessory for any creator and if you don’t have one, get it asap! If you do have one, awesome! Take the time to pass anything of importance to your external hard drive.

3. DECLUTTER & ORGANIZE YOUR CLOSET FOR SPRING

When was the last time you organized your closet? We’re in a new season and while you have some time, put away the fall and winter pieces that you don’t want to bring into spring. Color coordinate your closet, fold your clothes, take out your favorite spring accessories, shoes, bags, sunglasses, you name it. I love shopping my closet! You never know what hidden and forgotten gems you come across that you can put to use.

4. LEARN A NEW SKILL

Is there something you wish you knew more of? Or want to learn how to do? Start learning! For example, knowing SEO and keywords for Google search, YouTube, Pinterest etc is so important for driving traffic back to your blog and showing up in search PERIOD. Take the time to learn SEO, alt text etc. to help your content get discovered. Learning a new skill for the backend of your content creation process is key. What is that new skill for you?

5. TAKE A FREE COURSE

Taking a free course is kinda similar to learning a new skill but I’m putting it in it’s own category because, why TF not? There are so many digital course creators that have not only significantly discounted their courses but some have even offered them for FREE!!!! Free knowledge? Y’all better jump on that! I know I am!

6. READ / FINISH READING A BOOK

Always said you wish you had more time to read? Well, now’s the time. Or maybe you’re like me and have a book that you’re almost done with but can’t seem to finish...FINISH IT! I get a pass because I am taking 2 courses but I digress. We all should be reading more; books, articles, studies etc. Just read. Expand your mind, learn new words, and be more enriched. Period.

7. GET RID OF EXPIRED SKIN CARE & MAKE UP PRODUCTS

Hi, product junkies! When was the last time you actually checked to see if your skincare products or makeup has expired?? Using products past their expiration date is no bueno for your skin. If you don’t remember when you got a product or when you first started using it check out this handy guide for makeup expiration dates and this one for general cosmetic shelf life and expiration dates.

8. PLAY WITH SETTINGS IN YOUR CAMERA

Whether you work with a photographer or not for your content there comes a time when you may need to take your own pics. The self-timer is your friend but so is mastering the settings on your camera, and yeah, your camera phone counts here too. There are great videos on YouTube that you can watch to learn some of the most basic settings that result in bomb photos. The sooner you learn these the sooner (and quicker) you’ll be at taking amazing solo (indoor) pics.

9. UPDATE LINKS IN YOUR POSTS

Affiliate marketing is a popular way that most content creators make money but if you have broken links guess who ain’t making any money? You my friend. It can be pretty daunting to even think about updating all the links you’ve ever shared in a post, YouTube video or Pinterest. Make a list of your evergreen content and start by tackling those first. Think of the shopping widgets you’ve created, update those. Just start slowly and be consistent with it and it’ll get easier to manage. It’s also something to do when you can’t think of anything else to do! 😂

10. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING

Yes, you read correctly. NOTHING. It’s totally ok to not do a dam thing. I have seen so many posts on Instagram about how now is the perfect time to start that project, start that blog, write etc. And yeah, I am also giving ideas of what you can do during this time but, I also feel it’s important to say that if you don’t feel like it, that’s totally cool too. I don’t see enough people saying that. It is a weird time. There is no denying that. There is a lot of uncertainty. And honestly, I felt really down the first few days of self-quarantining (is that a word?). I kept thinking that I should be doing more. I should exercise. I should film a video. I should read week 4 of The Artist’s Way because I’m so behind. I should, I should, I should. SHIT. Like, nah. Maybe this time is to remind us all to slow the f*ck down. Be still. Soak in the small moments throughout the day that we forget about. Maybe it’s to give our bodies a break, Mother Earth. So yeah. It’s ok to do absolutely nothing. And it’s totally ok to binge watch. Preferably seasons 4 & 5 of Orange Is the New Black! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Look, all I’m saying it….well. This says it best:
