Best Foundation for Oily Skin
“OMG your skin looks amazing! What foundation did you use?”
“Your makeup looks beautiful, what did you use?”
It’s amazing to me how often I get asked about my makeup, specifically, what foundation I use. I’m mainly surprised because my skin has always been a battle for me; very sensitive, oily, and acne prone. So figuring out the best makeup to use that wouldn’t break me out and keep me shine free has been (and still is) quite the trial and error process.
But girl, I got you! Here’s the scoop on the best foundations for oily/sensitive/acne prone skin.
Is it just me, but I need a combo of drugstore and high-end makeup in my arsenal. These babies are my tried and true. I know that they’ll get the job done and most importantly, not break me out. If it says ‘matte’ I need. I swear, I should be the guinea pig for anything that claims to mattify. I’m that greasy yall.
For everyday use, I prefer a powder foundation. I don’t like anything too heavy so the Clinique Stay Matte pressed powder and the Cover Girl powder are perfect. For a bit more coverage, pics, or on-camera stuff I go with the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte and use the Bare Minerals as a finishing powder. Together, they are a dream. If my skin is being really temperamental (blotchy, redness etc) I use a little bit of each. I know, crazy right? But it works! At the end of the day, it’s about what works for you, your skin, and your needs at the moment.
Don't sleep on drugstore or Avon products for that matter; the Avon Smooth Minerals foundation gives your skin a healthy luminous look. The L'Oreal True Match and Cover Girl Tru Blend are affordable alternatives and they won't irritate your skin. Neutrogena Skin Clearing Mineral Powder has ingredients to help clear and prevent acne so this is a great option for when your skin is misbehaving.
Also, I can’t wait to try Fenty Beauty! Every video I’ve seen the foundation looks so so natural and beautiful. *Fingers crossed* that they have my shade.
Your skin routine plays a huge role in how your makeup applies and prepping your skin is key. Try a toner for oily skin to absorb extra shine.
